Keeping Golden Hill beautiful is no easy task. To confront the challenge, the Greater Golden Hill Community Development Corporation (GGHCDC) is recruiting volunteers to gather debris and litter from Golden Hill’s neighborhood parks and commercial corridors. The GGHCDC invites you to be part of the Golden Hill Community Clean Up on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 8:30AM to 11:30AM. Volunteers will meet and check-in at Golden Hill Park (2500 Golden Hill Drive).

Volunteers from Golden Hill businesses, schools, and community groups will team up with San Diego City Councilmember Stephen Whitburn and County Supervisor Nora Vargas to beautify the neighborhood. All materials plus refreshments will be provided. Volunteers are welcome to sign up either individually or as a group at goldenhillcdc.org/events.

“With a mix of eclectic businesses and over 75 designated historic buildings, Golden Hill is one of San Diego’s finest neighborhoods. The GGHCDC is committed to revitalizing our community, and we know our neighbors are eager to lend a hand,” states the event’s organizer, Alex Ward. “Through the Community Clean Up, we aim to provide a way for people to help keep Golden Hill beautiful.”

“Neighborhood cleanups embody the spirit of community,” said Councilmember Stephen Whitburn. “Neighbors coming together to pitch in to make their communities a better place to live, and play brings a sense of pride and makes our communities stronger. I am grateful to everyone who will be giving of their time on a Sunday morning to spruce up Golden Hill.”
