Social Services

Jewish Family Service of SD

Provides comprehensive social services to people of all ages and faiths through more than 50 programs. Their headquarters are located in Kearny Mesa, but we have offices throughout the county.

Ways to Work, a program operated under the JFS, offers working families with damaged credit to repair their finances through a low-interest auto loan, case management, and financial education.
Please read the following testimonial from one of their clients:
“On behalf of our entire family we deeply thank you for helping us obtain a car. For us it is much more than just a car, it is independence, safety for our children, and a decrease in stress & worry. You have made our 2012 wishes come true and we take this responsibility very seriously! Best wishes, (borrower’s name omitted to protect confidentiality)”

This program is the only one of its kind in San Diego and is based off a national model that has been in practice since 1984. Since its inception at JFS in August 2012, we have helped 15 families get into vehicles, have more families currently car shopping, and have provided financial education to 150 families.
