Biking in Golden Hill

Golden Hill is centrally located and is a quick bike commute to Padres games at Petco Park and to work in Downtown San Diego. Mountain Biking trails are available throughout Florida Canyon right down the street. It is also a fun eight mile ride to Mission and Pacific Beach. Watch out for the steep hills!

DecoBike has recently installed solar powered bike stations around San Diego. Whether you’re out with friends, running errands around the neighborhood, or in need of a quick ride, DecoBike makes bike rental easy.

San Diego Tour de Fat

“Opening each show with a costumed bike parade through the host city, Tour de Fat celebrates the power of the bike by encouraging everyone to embrace their inner-cyclist and ride the streets as a rolling carnival of creativity. The festival also features a celebration of the inspirational car-for-bike swapper series in which brave souls hand over their car keys as a commitment to commute by bike” – Tour De Fat’s website.

CicloSDias

“CicloSDias is all about connecting communities and giving people a break from the stress of car traffic. CicloSDias San Diego will bring families outside of their homes to enjoy car free streets. The message is clear – we all want a clean, healthy and vibrant San Diego.

CicloSDias welcomes everyone in San Diego to walk, ride, stroll and enjoy our streets.  Approximately 2.5 miles of city streets will be opened to families, pedestrians, cyclists, joggers, skateboarders, and anyone else interested in using this public space in a new way” – CicloSDias’s website.

San Diego Velodrome Association

“The San Diego Velodrome hosts racing for both juniors and adult of all levels. Our Tuesday night races (TNR) and Friday night races (FNR) run spring through fall and are sanction by ATRA. No USA Cycling license is required to race.

just discovered your blog from a ferind and it’s fabulous….being a 62 year old women who still believes when you travel you should dress up, I have passed that habit onto my 37 year old daughter….she’s a New Yorker and doesn’t leave the house unless she looks ready to be photographed….We also both love to wear hats….something that has been passed down to her daughter who is 5….thank you for realizing people can still be stylish no matter how old they get!!
